Since its formation Greenville Colorants has expanded from both internal growth and acquisitions. In 2005 it acquired Blackman Uhler’s dye business and expanded its product line. Over the next several years, the Company expects significant sales growth opportunities from the launch of new proprietary products and expansion into new markets in the USA and abroad.

Greenville Colorants emphasis on low-cost products through outsourcing dyestuff raw materials, production, coupled with innovative and value added products has strengthened its market position as one of the largest importers of dyestuffs in the USA.

Products and Services

Greenville Colorants offers over 2,000 dye products in both liquid and powder form. The company (custom-blends and) matches colors based on samples sent in by customers. Custom blends are then manufactured to meet all the customer specifications and requirements.

Greenville Colorants sources its raw materials from its extensive network of suppliers primarily in India, China and Taiwan. By outsourcing raw materials Greenville Colorants is able to adapt more easily to changing market conditions.

Approximately 95 percent of dyestuffs purchased are mixed, processed and repackaged for distribution to customers. The company maintains strict quality-throughout the processing, packaging and delivery of finished products.

A majority of the company sales are sold directly to end users through an internal sales force as well as directly to distributors. Greenville Colorants has one of the premier sales forces in the industry with an average person having over 20 years of sales experience in the industry. In addition, GC’s salespeople possess strong technical expertise, which enables them to add value to customers by solving technical problems and offering customized products.

History 

Greenville Colorants acquired Blackman Uhler’s dyestuff business in 2005 and further expanded its market share. The company is owned by the Weiss families who have been in the industry for over 50 years.

The company has one of the strongest management teams in the dye and chemical industries in terms of breadth of product and market knowledge, technical expertise and extensive vendor/client relationships. Each member of the management team has various entrepreneurial experiences within the dye/chemical industry.
